Buying roller skate plates? Start here!

When you’re in the market for your first roller skate build , you get to make specific decisions about your roller skate plates! “What’s a good brand?” and “What plate size matches my boot size?” are probably the two most common questions that only scratch the surface of making a roller skate plate decision!

In the video below I talk about how the kingpin angle (anywhere between 5-45 degrees), wheel base (distance between axles) and the plate position on the boot (forward, middle, rear) all work together for a unique skating experience.

While it doesn’t replace actually trying the plate, this criteria should help you to narrow down your roller skate plate search.

• manufacturer and plate reputation
