Lethbridge Roller Club is a collective group of skaters who pay monthly fees to cover venue costs and other expenses for access to weekly skate time during the winter months. Once you pay your monthly fees, attend as many skate events as you like within your paid month! There are typically three events per month, which works out to $5 per event.

What are club events like?

Events are one-hour, lights-on with mid-volume music. Skaters may roll laps around the perimeter of the gym, which include direction changes. Or, they may work on footwork/small space skills in the middle of the gym.

Where do you skate?

Southminster United Church Hall, 1011 – 4 Avenue South.

It is a mid-size gym with wood floors.

When do you skate?

Schedule varies. Subscribe to RSL’s newsletter for new club announcements.

Doors will open five minutes prior to skate start time. Skate days and times may vary from month-to-month, depending on venue availability.

How much does it cost to join?

Membership is $15 per month and must be pre-paid via e-transfer before the first skate session of the month. A minimum of 20 skaters must register each month to ensure the program moves forward for that month. Skaters will be invoiced for their membership fees once the 20-skater minimum is reached. Memberships are not transferable to other skaters or refundable. See member info below for more details.

Can I borrow roller skates?

Yes! There will be an option to reserve your roller skates for the month. Skate loans are free. They will be brought to the venue each week. Click here for sizing information.

Can I pay a drop-in fee instead of a membership?

Sorry, only monthly memberships are available. We encourage you to attend the monthly discos, if you’re not able to commit to weekly skates. Click here for event info.

Can I bring a friend?

Friends will need to register and pay for their own membership by the registration deadline.

How do I register?

Registration opens monthly. Registration will go live here. You will add your registration to a cart and then proceed to the checkout to enter your registration information. If you are registering for a youth skater, please register under their name.

If you are borrowing roller skates, be sure to also add your skate reservation to your cart prior to check out. You can also reserve your skates in a separate booking if you forget.

Registration fees are due via e-transfer prior to first club session.

Member Rights, Responsibilities, Terms

By registering for your requested month, you will become a member of the Lethbridge Roller Club for that month, once the 20-skater minimum is met.

SKATE LOCATION
Southminster United Church Hall
1011 – 4 Avenue South
Please use 11 Street Hall entrance.

Dues and Payments

$15 membership fee is due via e-transfer, once invoice is received. E-transfer information will be included on invoice. Membership fees are due by first skate session. Memberships are not transferable to other skaters or eligible for refund.

The registration process is in place to ensure there will be enough members to cover venue rental and associated costs. We appreciate you following through with your club membership commitment by promptly paying. If membership fees are not received by first skate session, the skater’s membership will be cancelled.

E-transfer payment is preferred to avoid handling cash at the event. If you do not have access to e-transfer, please email cherri@rollerskatelethbridge.ca after receiving your invoice to make special arrangements.

• All members will work together to ensure venue cleanliness.
• Members will ensure skate equipment is in good working order, with no sharp or protruding hardware that may damage wood floors.
— Toe stops do not have exposed metal.
— Axles do not protrude out from wheels.
— Protective gear rivets and hard shell components will not snag or scratch surfaces.
• Safe behaviour is expected. RSL staff will correct and document unsafe behaviour. Continued intentional unsafe behaviour will result in the cancelling of membership with no refund. Unsafe behaviour may include, but is not limited to:
— Excessive speed
— Bumping/hitting other skaters
— Skating in the wrong direction
— Cutting across the skate floor in an unsafe manner
— Running into walls, barricades, etc.

• This is an all-ages event with limited supervision. Skaters under 12 must have an adult guardian in attendance during club events. Adult guardian may attend for free, if they are not rolling.
• All youth and adult members are responsible for their own actions. Members accept and fully assume there is a potential for personal injury, injury to others, property damage and loss during Roller Club events. Members accept full responsibility for injury, damage and/or loss that may occur. Please report injury, damage or loss to RSL staff ASAP.
• We’re working together to create an affordable skate space for all. Deceitful membership activities will only hurt the collective. For example: do not send other skaters under your membership name as they have not officially agreed to member rights, responsibilities and terms. Deceitful membership activities will result in the immediate cancellation of membership with no refund.
